The Monster Energy Aftershock Concert that Regional Parks has permitted at Discovery Park on October 13 and 14, 2018 will take place from 11 a.m. - 10 p.m. Saturday and 11 a.m. - 9 p.m. Sunday. We anticipate spectators to arrive as early as 8 a.m. The American River Parkway Multi-Use (Bike) Trail and the Boat Launch area will all remain open for the general public to use and enjoy, although delays may occur with the number of attendees expected.
A slight trail detour will be in place this week continuing through October 18 for the safety of our trail users. The park through-road will also be closed at times for safety to allow for large equipment and trucks to set up for the event. A vehicle detour would be Interstate 5 or Northgate / Highway 160. Entry on Richard’s Boulevard side of the Park will continue to be open for users and boat traffic.
Traffic for the Concert is to enter Discovery Park from the Garden Highway entrance. The majority of concert goers will be shuttled in from Sleep Train arena in Natomas. The Festival has worked with City of Sacramento Transportation and Police on a traffic and parking flow plan to minimize the impacts to local traffic and businesses. The City of Sacramento Police Department will be directing traffic into the Park. The Concert has also secured additional parking across the street from Garden Highway.
